Emil Ustinescu is a man living in a small town in Romania. Born in a time of change, he had the luck of not being influenced by new trends and fashions that reached our country later. As a result, he ended up today as not being part of the ever more crowded and agitated society, choosing to slowly retreat towards a more calm way of living, away from the restless worries that govern many lives today. Thus, nature plays a quintessential role in his everyday life, as nature provides him the drive necessary to return to his town, with thoughts aligned to the next getaway. Oh yes, it would be nice if that text was entirely true, but, leaving the third person storytelling behind… let me tell you something about me.

I live in Tulcea, a small city located in Romania, more precisely at the very entry in the Danube Delta. I won’t talk about my childhood and such moments, because stories like that represent nothing to anyone but me. However, I will present you other aspects of my current life.

Photography is a relative recent discovery of mine, and by that I mean 2 years. Since I made my first photo with a “Pentax” film camera, I was both amazed and confused. My father used to bring home that lovely camera, and I used to take shots quite frequently. Of course, I was just a child and didn’t knew much about it. But as time passed, cameras remained just a distant memory hidden in my mind, until I had the opportunity of buying a good camera mobile phone. Since that day, it has been a road full of surprises and disappointments, since in my early days I had a huge gap in skills. Nevertheless, I pursued my dream and bought a Fujifilm semi-pro camera, which I use nowadays to shoot photos with.

I just love nature with all there is to it…the good parts and the bad ones, and subsequently, I just love taking pictures in nature, everything that is not man made attracts me in its perfect simplicity. Thus, you will probably observe that most of my photos share nature as a common theme. Still, I don’t neglect other themes, but proportionally, they fade in comparison to trees, flowers, landscapes, waterscapes, etc.

However, I do not pretend to be a good photographer, I am just an amateur trying to learn as much as possible on this twisted road that photography represents. I hope that you will not discredit me if some photos do not rise to your expectations, I am still learning.
